Explore the Bugey region from the cottages
The Suerme Plateau is a beautiful hike with around 200 metres of elevation gain, accessible to most walkers. From the plateau, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Bugey countryside and the vast Ain plain.
On clear days, the view stretches far into the distance: the ponds of the Dombes region can be seen reflecting the sunlight, and when conditions are especially good, Mont Blanc appears on the horizon. The plateau is also an excellent place to observe wildlife in its natural habitat, including roe deer, birds of prey and many other local species. Starting directly from the Indrieux cottages, this walk is ideal for families, nature lovers, or anyone wishing to discover the surrounding countryside. Be sure to wear suitable walking or hiking shoes to enjoy the trails safely and comfortably. There are many other walks to discover in the area. Around Arandas and Indrieux, numerous trails lead through forests, scenic viewpoints, local heritage sites and the characteristic landscapes of the Bugey region. A great opportunity to explore the area and enjoy nature, just a short distance from the cottages. Host's tip: set off early in the morning or later in the afternoon for the best light and a greater chance of spotting wildlife.
